Zoe Transforming Foundation recently intervened in the case of Sylvia Wanjiru, a mother of three living in Kawangware, who was unable to clear her hospital bills after giving birth to her third child. Abandoned by her husband during pregnancy, Sylvia has been struggling alone to care for her children with no source of income or family support.
Our team stepped in and fully settled her hospital bills, allowing her and her newborn to be discharged safely. However, Sylvia’s challenges continue. She remains unemployed and unable to meet basic needs such as food, rent, and clothing. Her eldest daughter, Jane, dropped out of school in Grade 7 due to lack of school fees. Zoe Transforming Foundation is now working to help Jane return to school and to provide the family with ongoing support.
Sylvia’s story is a reminder of the silent struggles faced by many families in our communities. We are committed to walking with her and her children until stability and hope are restored — but this journey requires collective effort.
